It’s a complete and comprehensive implant course. I would recommend it for candidates who has basic surgical experience and want to advance their skills.

It is a good idea to contact the sales reps
of the implant companies to attend some of the free or less expensive endorsed courses by steaumann, Dentsply, Nobelbiocare ….etc.

Some of the instructors were helpful and knwoelgable some were not helpful.

I wish if they make the photography module more hands on.

Very good surgical experience in extractions, surgical extractions, socket preservation and implant placement.

Some of the speakers were changed and rescheduled last minute.

Case planning was not specific and there was multiple cancellations for treatment planned cases.

It’s expensive course and can add on more cost of surgical instruments and travel cost.

Expect to placed any where from 7_13 Implants and restore at least half of it.

Dental assistants and sterilization control was superior plus managing the inventory.

Breakfast and lunch provided on all days of the course with kitchen access.

To summarize, I think it’s good idea to sign up for the basic modules with Ti-Max and if you get more interested you always can sign up for the full modules later if you coordinate.

Instructors: Excellent with years of knowledge and practice.

    Course Materials:
    – Have to do online exams in order to get your CEs.
    – Lectures, photographs and online learning are invaluable.

Facility: Excellent, comfortable, high-tech, food is the best.
They have special rates for people who want to stay at the Delta Hotel by Marriott. (Ask for it , hotel is 7 minutes away from Timax Institute).

    – RCDSO requirements will be met by doing > 35 hours of OS and >35 hours of Prosthodontics. Between hands-on and lectures.

    – You will feel comfortable placing any of the four big implant systems in the market (i.e. Straumann, Nobel, Astra and Biohorizon).

    – They also teach Soft, hard tissue grafting as well as sinus lift on cadavers.

    – It is a comprehensive course that will run over a course of one year, for ten weekends (One weekend /month), with a summer break on June and July.

    – Course involves:
    Patient Photography

This course offers everything you would expect to learn from an implant course. Instructors are great offering tons of education on implant dentistry. In addition, you learn tons of additional information ranging from sinus lifts to soft tissue grafting to laser dentistry to PRF. Agreed with previous poster that this is the best investment I have made in continuing dental education. The course however, is very tiring and in depth. One of the strongest aspects of this course is that you get to trial the four tier 1 implant systems (Astra, Biohorizons, Straumann, and Nobel) before deciding on which implant system you choose on placing in your practice. In this course, you are capable of bringing your own patient’s to the Timax institute (transferring a portion of the course fee to your patient), or you can pay a separate fee to have Timax supply you with patients to place the implants on. This course gives you the opportunity to place at least 4 implants (often times more) throughout the course (one from each implant company). Some hands on components are on actual cadavers which is very different than pig jaw. In addition, this course also provided tons of supplementary information and connections for dental products and labs. Food is great 🙂 !!!

Pros : very good instructors , they know what they are doing , hands on component, one will get to work with all four implant systems, they don’t push for any particular system, good facility , and fantastic food for food lovers, they feed you well. one will learn a lot, overall great course

Cons : expensive , very time consuming, hands on components are sometimes chaotic with last minute changes, for patients from timax you pay them a premium, may not be the best for 1st timers or who are looking to place only straight forward implant cases there are many cheaper out there, this is quiet an advanced course .

They also covers other areas like pharmacology, anatomy, gen medicine, oral pathology its geared towards preparing you for their academy fellowship. The treatment planning software they endorse from dentsply is very expensive and unnecessary for simple cases.

Probably the best investment that i have ever made in a course , it’s expensive , tiring and time consuming but it’s all worth it .
The amount of information , hands on , different ideas you get is unparalleled.
It’s not just an implant course , It will enhance your skills in , oral surgery , tx planing , occlusion , photography , soft tissue /hard tissue grafting, practice management and Implants plus that you get to meet great people and instructors , Dr. Stewart and Dr. Arvanitis are both great at what they do.
    Well worth the investment.
    Highly recommended.
