Center for Dental Artistry
David K. Chan, DMD

This course will help participants achieve a higher level of composite artistry with results that can seamlessly emulate natural teeth or rival the beauty of porcelain restorations by learning the concepts of both anterior composites and advanced restorative applications. Dr. Chan will cover the fundamentals from a myriad of composite systems, the physical and optical properties of resins and manufacturer differences including strength, translucency, predictable shade selection, tooth morphology, polishing techniques. The nuances that make a restoration average or exceptional such as color theory and composite selection based on the restorative goal will be presented in detail. The course will discuss the polychromatic nature of natural human teeth and how composite resins can be used to emulate that polychromatic appearance effortlessly and predictably.  In the hands-on sessions, participants will have the opportunity to watch Dr. Chan walk through each skill step by step in a state of the art audio video facility while the participants work on their custom made models. This will include using putty matrices and learning advanced diastema closing techniques. Dr. Chan will demonstrate these skills with photographic examples of actual before and after composite cases. Have you ever wanted to be able to ask YOUR FAQs about composites? How do you prevent voids and how to make them disappear? Best method of shade matching? Treat and prevent post-op sensitivity? Correct poor shade matching? Now is your chance to learn composite artistry from an AACD Accredited  cosmetic dentist. Participants may submit questions prior to the course and Dr. Chan will answer!

Objectives: Learn fundamental properties of “many” different types of composite systems. Learn details of shade selection, tints and opaquers and other pearls that ensure consistent results. Learn how to create polychromatic composite restorations that emulate nature and rival porcelain. Learn contouring and polishing techniques to create exceptional composite restorations. Prepare candidates for passing the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Accreditation section with composite case IV and case V.

As a young dentist my experience with esthetic composites was very limited. Dr. Chan’s course was exactly what I needed at this point in my career! His didactic and one on one hands on teaching style guided me during the two day course and at the end of it I felt I had the tools and guidance needed to start doing these in the office the next day! Dr. Chan is extremely generous in the advise that he gives, never holding anything back and showing you exactly how you can replicate his stunning results. Furthermore both Dr. Chan and his lovely wife are so kind and welcoming, it was truly a great atmosphere to learn. I would highly recommend his course to others looking to excel and master anterior composites!

Hands-on courses do not get better than this! Dr. Chan’s small class sizes and step-by-step mentoring ensure that you take your anterior composite resin skills to new heights in a matter of days! For those who want to create life-like layered conservative composites that will have patients raving, this is the course you’re looking for. A great teaching center, above-and-beyond hospitality, and techniques that you can use the very next day make this course a remarkable experience.

This was a great class, with a fantastic hands on portion. There is a lot of samples and tools along with a comprehensive manual that you will not get in other composite classes. The one thing that separates Dr.Chan from others is that he will not hold back on passing his knowledge onto you. It is not like other classes that say you have to come back for part 2.
You can also look forward to great hospitality from his wife and staff. Liann and Linda are top notch and will provide fantastic food and help you in any way they can.
Out of the many classes I have taken this is one of the tops. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent course. Very hands-on, and a lot of one on one instruction from David Chan himself. He keeps his courses small so that each person can get as much out of the course as possible. He is very good at explaining and makes the steps predictable and simple.

The center itself is amazing. They provide you with everything you need right at your desk. Linda makes sure to provide anything else you might need for instruction during the course. They even go above and beyond in providing delicious breakfasts and lunches at the center everyday (thanks to Liann), and then they host a special dinner at a restaurant in downtown with an amazing view and excellent food. I’ve made friends there at the center from all over the country and even from abroad, as it is an intimate and very personable setting. And have become friends with David Chan, his wife Liann, and Linda (office manager).

David Chan is a true artist and creates the most amazing composites which rival the esthetics of skilled lab-produced porcelain veneers. And yet, he is so approachable, kind, and extremely humble. He doesn’t waste anyone’s time trying to market products or promoting himself.

This was a very practical course, vital for doing excellent cosmetic composite dentistry, and not only that, it was probably the most fun course I have been to.

Amazing workshop from a truly humble clinician who really wants you to learn. They are generous with giving you burs and other goodies to take home and try out.
A small class size in a comfortable facility makes you feel right at home so you learn better. Questions are encouraged and techniques are broken down into easy to understand chunks. The Pacific Northwest is beautiful. Worth attending this workshop and making a vacation out of it!
