The use of platelet concentrates has had a long-history of use in various fields of medicine as an autologous source of growth factors fabricated utilizing whole blood. While platelet rich plasma (PRP) was proposed as a first-generation platelet concentrate over 3 decades ago, over the past 10 years, platelet rich fibrin (PRF) has seen a steady increase in utilization for a variety of medical procedures due to its lack of anti-coagulation factors favoring fibrin clot formation and faster wound healing. More recently, the development of a liquid PRF provides a new formulation of liquid PRF without using anti-coagulation factors that may specifically be combined with currently available bone biomaterials favoring particle stability, angiogenesis and tissue integration. This talk aims to highlight the recent advancements made with respect to the newest formulations of platelet concentrates including recent developments in horizontal centrifugation and liquid concentrated-PRF (C-PRF) to further speed wound healing and tissue regeneration for various clinical indications faced in routine daily dental practice. Furthermore, protocols to extended the working properties of PRF from 2-3 weeks to 4-6 months are discussed (e=PRF) including their current clinical applications.

The course was designed owing to the worldwide demand to learn PRF in an appropriate evidenced-based manner. The program was put together in correspondance with our one day programs that are offered at www.prfedu.com to meet the demand of individuals who could not necessary attend a seminar in USA as well as to our international colleagues. The course is divided into 9 sections (modules) where each specific module will have a lecture video along with a series of multiple choice questions prior to advancing to the following module. Once completed, the participant will earn 8 CE credits following completion of the course.

Each module also has a series of downloadable files (mainly publication downloads or interesting reads) which will help supplement the participants learning experience.

We sincerely wish you a pleasant journey through this online module. Each module allows for Comments to be made including Questions which I will personally answer regarding the uses of Platelet Rich Fibrin in Regenerative Dentistry.
