✅Q-Implant Marathon: Hands-on Live Surgery Implantology Courses

Learning by Doing Since 2003, the Q-Implant Marathon has offered hands-on training that incorporates a live patient model. Participants spend five days assisting and leading surgeries under the supervision of TCP’s experienced surgical team. The Academy of General Dentistry accredits the Q-Implant Marathon and all participants are eligible to receive 60 continuing education credit hours. The Q-Implant Marathon offers 5-Day Implant Course, participate and lead the placement of 30 implants (guaranteed per doctor!) while assisting on dozens more.

Q-Implant Marathon Level 1 – This course guarantees exposure to a minimum of 60 implants in 5 days! Each doctor will get to personally place 30 implants as the main surgeon while assisting 30 more placed by a group member. 5-days of live patient surgery under the supervision of an experienced team of instructors. All cases performed during the implant course will be hands-on with local patients. All patients are pre-screened by our clinic prior to the course, and each case will be treatment planned with your instructor prior to surgery.

TENTATIVE LEVEL 1 IMPLANT COURSE SCHEDULE

Saturday/Sunday:
- Arrivals with airport transportation Introductory didactic meeting (system and implant overview, drilling protocols, model work on plastic jaws)
Monday-Friday:
- 8:30 am-1:00 pm – live surgery under supervision including treatment planning, Q&A, hands-on surgery
LUNCH BREAK BETWEEN PATIENTS
1:30pm-evening – live surgery under supervision including treatment planning, Q&A, hands-on surgery, and post-case discussions
Each group of 2 dentists works with a dedicated instructor.

Q: WHAT IS THE COURSE STRUCTURE?

There are 3 skill levels available in which participants, grouped in pairs, can expect to undergo 60+ hours of practical surgery to gain experience and apply learned theoretical concepts on implantology.

Q: DO YOU OFFER DIFFERENT LEVELS?

- Level 1: Implant Placement

Participants are guaranteed to perform 30 Implants in 5 days, with cases ranging from Standard to Moderately-complicated, all supervised and assisted by experienced implantologists, thereby providing practical experience.

- Level 2: Sinus Elevations

Participants are guaranteed to perform 5 Sinus Lifts in 5 days under the supervision and assistance of experienced instructors. Apart from this, various techniques and procedures such as Bone Augmentation and Effective Management of Complications due to Implant Surgery will also be discussed.

- Level 3: Demanding Cases

Participants are required to treat a number of demanding cases at this level. These include those involving Highly Atrophic Bone, Comprehensive Bone Augmentation, using Titanium Mesh, to name a few.

Q: WHICH LOCATION IS MOST SUITABLE FOR US BASED DENTISTS?

The Q-Implant Marathon is an international program and all locations are suitable for dentists from all over the world! US-based dentists tend to choose our Dominican Republic and/or Brazil sessions, due to shorter travel times. The course curriculum and level guarantees are the same across all of our locations. We invite you to attend the session/location that works best for you!

Q: HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS/DOCTORS DO YOU ACCEPT PER COURSE SESSION?

Sessions are currently being limited to smaller groups. The number of participants depends on the date/session/location, and the number of op-booths available (10 op-booths = 20 participants working in teams of 2).

Q: HOW DOES ONE PREPARE FOR YOUR IMPLANT TRAINING COURSE?

One should be equipped with the necessary basic surgical skills such as Incision and Suture. Basic knowledge of Implantology and theories on it are expected, as well. Moreover, participants should familiarize themselves with the Q-Method, including the time period allotment the course requires to avoid conflicts in schedule.

Took this course Dec 2018 in DR. It was an amazing experience. International as well as a few US instructors. There is no lecture portion. If you are not familiar with the implant process maybe take a lecture course before a hands on one. Day one and you jump right into your cases. Even as level one you get advanced type cases with resorbed ridges. Groups of 2 work together. I had my bestie from dental school do the course with me so it was perfect! You really do get to place all 30 implants yourself with not much “hand holding.” Patients got IM sedation if they got too nervous. I did at least 2 “full mouth” implant cases.
The area was nice, hotel accomdations were great, and the clinic was very clean and modern.
After completing the course you get a code to redeem a surgical kit and 8 implants of your choice. So you can pretty much make your money back and some just in placing those implants. You get a certificate which illustrates an implant which is a nice visual for patients.
Overall a great course with a great ROI!

hi; I did the q implant courses December 2019 before that I finished a mini implant residency course in Canada but after which I couldn’t feel confident enough to apply implant. after a very deep research on the internet, I decided to register for that course and never regret of it. in five days i placed 35-36 implant…even I did one upper full mouth case …there is a lot of good things to mention but to my opinion, the best one is the patience of the instructors …non of them refuse to answer your questions or your needs for help even if they are not your instructors…all assistants are working very hard to help you …the good things after I returned to Ottawa I did 5 implants next week …as an associate dentist the course gave me a lot of confidence and i am looking for to register in 2021 for the intermediate and advanced part of the course…never had a problem with organisation also….good luck to everyone…

I took the initial course before ever completing a full thickness flap and after the course, I felt comfortable enough to complete several implants since then. The training WILL get you comfortable for your first paying patient. The instructors will be there, by your side, guiding you with patients. I never felt the panic I expected when placing my first implants there

Absolutely phenomenal course attended the q implant marathon course and have the confidence to place implants. Most courses are all theoretical but this course you get all the hands on experience you will need to get your confidence level up and place implants day one.

I did this course in Dominican Republic back in 2018 and it was by far the best hands on course I have ever done. The overall organization was great and the confidence to start placing implants when completed was definitely there. As this is a heavy hands on course, it would be good idea for applicants to take other didactic courses on implants before.
