More About Dr. Shouresh Charkhandeh As a well-known and passionate educator, researcher and innovator in dental sleep medicine, Dr. Charkhandeh has lectured at numerous national sleep meetings across the world, such as AASM & AADSM Annual Meetings (USA), CSS Annual Meeting (Canada), iBEDSMA Annual Meeting (Belgium), NVTS Annual Meeting (Netherlands), DGZS Annual Meeting (Germany) and many more dental meetings.
The recipient of the “2012 & 2015 Clinical Research Award” and “2015 Clinical Excellence Award” from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, he is a general dentist who is actively involved in clinical research in Dental Sleep Medicine. He is the founder and director of Alberta Dental Sleep Medicine Study Club and the Clinical Director at The Snore Centre in Canada. He is also a co-founder of Zephyr Sleep Technologies, the developer of “MATRx TM” Technology, and currently serves as the Head of Faculty and Strategic Advisor to the company.
He has been treating OSA patients for many years and also has thousands of dentists in Dental Sleep Medicine. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree and Bachelor of Medical Sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada. He also earned fellowships from International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics & Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He then furthered his education and training by completing a Research Fellowship in the area of “Sleep and Dental Sleep Medicine” at the University of Antwerp Hospital (UZA), in Antwerp, Belgium, where he is also currently working on his PhD .
